Elephants have the unique ability to feel sounds through their feet and formed what is known as an “alert circle” during the 5.2 magnitude earthquake that shook Southern California this morning. This behavior, demonstrated here by Ndlula, Zuli, Mkhaya, Umngani, and Khosi, is a natural response to perceived threats that helps protect younger elephants and the herd as a whole.

After this morning’s shake up, the eles returned to business as usual and are safe along with the rest of the crew at San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance.

Society glorifies motherhood, but abandons moms the moment they need support. Society celebrates strength, but ignores burnout.

We say “moms are superheroes,” but then expect them to do it all without help, sleep, or a break. We celebrate the mom who’s juggling everything with a smile, but we don’t ask why she’s forced to carry so much alone.

Society doesn’t fail moms because they aren’t strong enough—it fails them because it demands strength without offering support.

The problem isn’t mothers—it’s the unrealistic standards society holds them to, without giving them the resources to survive, let alone thrive. It’s time we stop applauding the struggle and start building systems that actually support moms.

We need policies, paid leave, affordable childcare, mental health care, and a culture that values mothers as more than just caretakers who do all they can without the support they need.

It’s not weakness to ask for help. It’s a sign that this system was never built with moms in mind.

Let’s stop glorifying the struggle and start demanding better.

So you’re pregnant! Yay!! Congratulations!! Off to your first prenatal appointment you go. Not because anything is wrong but because you want to make sure everything is right and that you and baby are healthy!

Fast forward 9 months and you’ve been to a ton of OB appointments right? Not necessarily because anything is wrong but because you want to catch it if there is, right? You want to stay healthy and prevent any problems that you can.

Same goes for breastfeeding! You don’t want to wait until everything is going wrong before getting education and guidance. It should be standard care that every lactating person be assessed for potential challenges and given guidance BEFORE baby has arrived.

The most important thing you’ll do as a new parent is feed your baby! So wouldn’t you want to be prepared to do that, and face any obstacles that pop up with confidence?

Lasts about 90 minutes long, and because I am an out of network provider, I have the time to listen and hear everything you have to tell me.
My focus is not just on the pelvic floor. I evaluate the body in its entirety, because the pelvic floor is heavily connected to the lower back, hips, thoracic spine and diaphragm, the core, jaw and feet!
Having an orthopedic and manual therapy background compliments and supports the pelvic floor work.
You can also expect hands on treatment, an internal pelvic floor exam with your consent, and a tailored home exercise program at your first session.

My focus is on a multidisciplinary approach, because the pelvic floor is also regulated by your autonomic nervous system. So many other practitioners can help you and I achieve your goals.
Acupuncture, chiropractic, mental health, doula, mid wife, naturopath, holistic hormone support just to name a few.
